UCFW Local 555 is on strike!

I am encouraged to see productive conversations happening around the bargaining table this week as nearly 5,000 Fred Meyer workers strike against unfair labor practices. The progress made thus far is a step in the right direction, but there is still much more to be done.

Our grocery workers keep our city running, and they deserve to be treated with dignity.

I fully support the Union's push for stronger grievance and arbitration procedures, better overtime conditions, and fair compensation for the costs required by the state. Every worker in Portland deserves the opportunity to earn a living wage, access robust healthcare, and retire with security.

These workers need to know that the community has their back!
